Actually, if he/she was actually laid off, he/she would have had unemployment by now. He/She got fired, for whatever reason, and now expects the world to come to his/her rescue.

I hope that one, of the tens of thousands of new IRS agents, makes sure she pays her taxes on whatever money is donated. I'll bet she doesn't declare it.

No. Not one penny for he/she/it.
For years I helped people that were down and out, and when I fell on hard times and not ONE person helped me.
I had gone without a refrigerator for two years & no stove or clothes dryer for over a year. I went without a hot water heater for 5 months (during the winter). When I broke my leg, no one helped me. When I was hungry or sick, no one helped me.
People KNEW I was hurting but no one helped. I went on GoFundMe and asked for 600 dollars (not thousands) to replace my refrigerator. I didn't get a single nickel so I deleted that thread.
Now I finally have sufficient money and I'll keep it to myself, and spend it on myself, since I can't depend on getting help from others.
