I worked many minimum wage/part time jobs before I got hired by a factory, and I worked there for 43 years. I had no one to take care of me, but me.
Yes it was hard, but not every minute of the day, and I had no choice. Many of the people that worked there also had no choice. It was either work there or at some minimum-wage job, so we had to endure. I can't list all the crap that I had to put up with just to keep my job.
Good paying jobs are hard to find, and I wouldn't have gotten the same wages and benefits had I quit and went elsewhere. My friend (WF) worked in the slaughterhouse. Her job sucked, but she stayed with it until the plant closed up. She was never able to find a decent paying/full time job after that. Lucky for her, she had a family to fall back on. I didn't.
